Grants Update July 2023

In recent years Arts Network Sutton (ANS) has run two rounds of funding per calendar year, with application deadlines on March 31st and September 30th.

As part of a recent review of our own processes we have decided to postpone the upcoming grant deadline, while we work to further strengthen what ANS offers to you, our members, and streamline our own administration. We apologise if this news is disappointing, but we have realised we need to re-evaluate our working practices. As you know, we are a committee made up of volunteers and we need to ensure our part in supporting you is both effective, and sustainable.

Throughout the Autumn we will be working with Counterpoints Arts to conduct a consultation process with our membership and to explore additional funding opportunities for ANS. We envisage this will lead to improving our understanding of what is needed by local creatives at this time and as a result, also improving how we support and strengthen the network. We encourage as many of you as possible to participate in this process, as your thoughts and contributions are vital to ANS’s future development. We’ll share more information soon.

We intend to launch our redeveloped grants programme early next year for projects that you want to make happen from April to December 2024. In order to give you more lead time to plan your projects, and to improve our ability to judge where to commit our funds, we plan to trial just one annual grant round in 2024 instead of two. More details to follow.
