About
I studied Photography at Paddington Technical College in the 1970’s
In the 1980’s and 90’s I was doing reasonable well in supplying stock photos (transparencies) to picture libraries but the dreaded digital world was beginning to creep in, initially with very low resolution chips but the die was cast and film was going to be inexorably squeezed out of existence.
However, when digital came along and improved in pixel quality it was time to sell my film equipment before it became obsolete and I entered the digital World! I’m delighted that I did, as digital has, for me, opened up a whole new World of fine-art photography.
In 2010 I was asked by a good friend in Beckenham to join him and other artists to show my work at his gallery/studio as part of the SEOS Art Group (South East Open Studios) which I did and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and even sold a few images too.
Since then, I did a further two seasons at his gallery. In 2014 I had a fairly successful one man exhibition at Honeywood Museum over three weeks and during this time, I learnt presentation skills (mounting & framing) and knew that I needed good professionals to do that for me Eagle Gallery Framing and TVS Picture Framing fit the requirements perfectly.
After that, I started showing (and selling) at Mine gallery in Carshalton Village (now closed) and at Bourneside Gallery in Dorking. I also have my prints on Display and For Sale at Eagle Gallery Framing.
Neal & Helena Vaughan invited me to join their forthcoming new art group CAOS (Carshalton Artists Open Studios) in 2017 and I’m now very proud to be an accepted member of this fine art group of exceptional artists. The 2019 CAOSArt19 exhibition was a huge success, not only for me, selling around 14 prints over the two weekends but for all participating artists over the two weekends, I was delighted to be back at Honeywood Museum. Now we’re looking forward to the Christmas Fayre at the Cryer Arts Centre on 30th November 2019 and of course CAOSArt 2020. However, this didn’t happen as a show, due to Covid-19 but there was a good on-line presence and a few artists were able to offer video demos.
