Female Portraits from the Knights-Whittome Photographic Collection 1904-1918

Between 1904 and 1918, a small high street photographer’s studio in Sutton quietly documented the lives of ordinary local women during an extraordinary period of history.  With funding from the Heritage Lottery, Sutton Archives is finally bringing these women back to the forefront of the Borough’s history and celebrating their lives in this exhibition at Honeywood which marks the centenary of the 1918 Parliamentary Act that enabled women to vote in national elections for the first time.
