Stoneleigh conculdes its 75th anniversary celebrations with a gala concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall. The Main Orchestra, under the direction of Robert Hodge, will be performing Brahms’ Tragic Overture and Sibelius 2nd Symphony and will be joined by star violinist and regular SYO soloist, Joo Yeon Sir, to perform Wieniawski’s sparkling 1st Concerto.  The Training Orchestra will perform music by Beethoven and Elgar, and we are delighted to be welcoming back past players from across the years – many of whom have gone on to work with some of Europe’s leading ensembles – to a specially formed Alumni Orchestra to play Elgar’s Cockaigne overture, conducted by our former Music Director Adrian Brown. Tickets are available from the box office (southbankcentre.co.uk).
