His 'Cello Concerto'\, composed in 1919 is a haunting eleg y to this world\, and a lost generation.\n\nTchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony' is a portrayal of an impassioned struggle against fate\, taking listeners on an emotional journey via moments of doubt and despair\, fragility and s ublime romance before reaching its triumphant conclusion. It remains one o f the most performed symphonies of all time.\n\nSYO is delighted to welcom e back Daniel Brandon as soloist in the concerto. Daniel was principal cel list for both SYO and the National Youth Orchestra in 2018/19\, and now st udies in Germany.\n\nStoneleigh Youth Orchestra is one of the UK’s leadi ng youth orchestras\, with over 160 players aged 8 – 18 drawn from all o ver south west London and Surrey.
